What is the Alliance for Care?
The Care Alliance is a space made up of nine women’s and feminist CSOs, which was supported by the project for its consolidation. Four CSOs that are partners in the FAME project participate in it. The project in Latin America and the Caribbean has prioritised the issue of care, as it is on the national and regional agenda.
This space seeks to influence Ecuador to adopt a defined and progressive position on βcare societiesβ, developed jointly with women’s organisations. This position should serve as a basis for initiating negotiations that promote the integration of shared responsibility for care into national public policies.
The National and Intercultural Care System (SdC) is a transformative public policy proposal that recognises care work, especially unpaid work performed by women, and promotes its redistribution and valuation. It is a base document that was taken to the 16th Women’s Conference.
This space promotes the recognition, valuation and redistribution of care work, especially that performed by women, as an essential task for sustaining life.
