Stop Violence Against Women

FAME-ILLUSTRATION CARTE

Today, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, I stand together with every woman, every survivor, and every voice that continues to rise against injustice.

As the President of the Dhaka Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DWCCI), an organization I started back in 2011, I have dedicated my journey to empowering women, protecting their rights, and improving their standards of living. From the very beginning, our mission has been clear—women must have equal opportunity, equal dignity, and a society free from violence and discrimination.

Violence against women is not only a violation of human rights; it is a major barrier to economic growth, social harmony, and national development. When women suffer, families suffer. When women are unsafe, communities cannot progress.

At DWCCI, we continue to work tirelessly to strengthen women’s economic position, because economic empowerment is one of the strongest tools against violence. A woman who is financially independent gains voice, confidence, and protection.

Today, I call upon policymakers, community leaders, families, and every citizen to join hands in creating a safer Bangladesh for women. Let us raise awareness, provide support, and hold perpetrators accountable. Let us ensure that every girl can dream without fear, and every woman can live with dignity.

Together, we can build a society where violence has no place and women can thrive—boldly, safely, and equally.
