✊🏻Moving Towards Feminist and Inclusive Economies in Latin America and the Caribbean💚

With great enthusiasm, from CONLACTRAHO and CARE Ecuador, in the framework of the global project Feminism, Action and Mobilization for an Inclusive Economy (FAME), funded by AFD – Agence Française de Développement, we celebrate a key milestone in the progress towards the construction of an inclusive, feminist and sustainable economy in Latin America and the Caribbean.

On April 10, the First Attribution Committee took place, marking a step forward in strengthening women-led initiatives in the Latin American and Caribbean region. Together with CARE France, GERES, Empow’Her and CARE LAC, we analyzed 14 proposals from CSOs in Ecuador, Bolivia and the Dominican Republic.

The first attribution committee marks a strategic advance in the strengthening of feminist organizations by providing flexible grants that respond to their specific needs and contexts. This support not only has a direct impact on the beneficiary organizations, but also projects positive effects on local and national economies by positioning these organizations as key actors in promoting women’s leadership and building more just and resilient societies.

The selected initiatives aim to strengthen and promote economic and care agendas, as well as to promote sustainable enterprises that recognize and enhance the role of women in their territories. From an intersectional perspective, these actions seek to guarantee the active participation of women in decision-making and political advocacy spaces, comprehensively addressing the structural inequalities they face, especially in contexts characterized by poverty, climate change and exclusion.

The FAME program implements organizational and technical strengthening processes adapted to the realities of each organization, facilitating access to financial resources and promoting long-term sustainability. In addition, the program promotes the construction of an international feminist network that fosters the exchange of experiences, knowledge and good practices through collective learning methodologies that strengthen joint political action and the transformative impact of the feminist movement in the region.

With FAME, we continue to empower women’s leadership to transform our communities and move towards a greener, more inclusive and feminist future! 💚
